Story:

Captain Tom Ryan went through the anomaly with Nick Cutter in the first episode. They found a different world on the other side. On the other side they also found that someone had been there before. There was a camp and a skeleton. They also found a camera belonging to Nick's wife Helen. Captain Ryan was attacked by spiders down the underground and then helped capture Helen and take her back to the present. Cutter told Captain Ryan not to shoot the Pteranodon, but he wouldn't listen as it was chasing Connor and Claudia Brown had told him to shoot it. Cutter was right not to shoot it when they later found out that a swarm of pterasaurs had killed the man nearby and that the Pteranodon was after Abby's lizard Rex.

Captain Ryan was allowed to shoot the future predators though, but they were too fast to kill. When Captain Ryan, Helen and Nick went through the Permain anomaly to find the future. Nick realised that they were the people who'd been there before the first visit through the anomaly. A future predator appeared and killed Captain Ryan, who realised that the skeleton they had found before was him.
